Çağ Çelik Endüstri A.Ş. follows an environmental management policy based on national environmental legislation and international environmental standards, efficiently utilizing financial resources and placing sustainability at its core.
We identify risks within the scope of our activities and ensure full compliance with legal requirements; we monitor greenhouse gas emissions and report them transparently, and we prefer clean production technologies aimed at reducing waste at its source. Through environmentally responsible investments, we take necessary precautions and create healthy and safe structures by considering environmental impacts in our new investments.
We promote environmental awareness among our employees, suppliers, and all stakeholders; under the leadership of senior management, we continuously improve our environmental performance and regard the environment as a trust that must be protected for future generations. The project, whose foundation was laid in 2013 on the Karabük University campus, features a 3,000 m² library and a 2,000 m² exhibition hall. Equipped with the latest technological tools, the facilities were opened for students’ use in the 2017 academic year.

Güleç Children’s Homes

Due to the inadequate and outdated conditions of the Bulak Children’s Home, operated by SHÇEK in Bulak village the birthplace of Mr. Kamil Güleç, Chairman of the Board of Çağ Çelik he decided in 2008 to build a new children’s home. The villa home system, newly implemented in Turkey, was launched in 2009 under the name Güleç Sevgi Evleri with 5 villa homes. In each home, 13 children aged 6-12 live under the supervision and care of mothers and caretakers. Beyond meeting the housing needs of a total of 52 children, volunteer teachers who are members of the Güleç Sevgi Evleri Sustenance Association provide supplementary lessons to enhance the children’s school success. All members of the Güleç family continue to dedicate their efforts to the future of these children.

Our special athlete Said Emin ALTINTIRMIK from Güleç Petrol Çınar Spor Club became the champion in the 12-15 years male youth poomse category at the Para Taekwondo Turkey Championship held in Ankara on January 10, 2019, as part of the Turkish Taekwondo Federation’s 2019 activity program. He earned the right to represent our city and country alongside Ali Can ÖZCAN at the Para Taekwondo World Championship to be held in Antalya on February 5-6, 2019.

Ali Can ÖZCAN, Athlete of Güleç Petrol Karabük Çınar Sports Club, Becomes Turkey Champion

At the Para Taekwondo Turkey Championship held in Ankara on May 2, 2018, organized by the World Taekwondo Federation (WT), our local athlete Ali Can ÖZCAN from Güleç Petrol Karabük Çınar Sports Club became the Turkey Champion in the K44 men’s 61 kg category. Our athlete will represent our country at the international competition in Vietnam on May 24, 2018, and at the European Championship in Bulgaria on June 10, 2018. We wish success to our athlete Ali Can ÖZCAN and all the athletes participating in the competition.

Our Group Company Güleç Petrol Signed a Sponsorship Agreement with Çınar Sports Club.

The Güleç family, owners of Çağçelik A.Ş, one of Turkey’s top 500 companies, continues to support amateur sports and projects aimed at raising future champions. Today, the Güleç Group signed two agreements in the basketball and taekwondo branches. They signed a sponsorship agreement with the Karabük Çınar Sports Club Association, which has a total of 288 licensed athletes. Regarding the matter, Hüseyin Çağrı Güleç, General Manager of Çağçelik A.Ş, stated: “These children are our children. Our goal is to enable them to engage in sports, keep them away from bad habits, raise a healthy youth, and also train new champions, allowing our national anthem to be heard around the world and raising our glorious flag to its highest point.”

Karabük Health Sports Club was founded in 2010 by 7 founding members with 6 branches, operating primarily in basketball, and has continued its activities to this day. During this period, the club has achieved rankings within the province and won trophies. Our club participated in the men’s regional basketball league (EBBL) for two seasons. In the 2016/2017 season, with the youth of our province, the club achieved 12th place in Turkey in the U18 category and reached the semifinals (50th in Turkey) in the U14 category. In the 2017/2018 season, the club ranked 2nd in the province in U18 and 1st in U16 and U15 categories. It will represent our province in the regional championships to be held in Zonguldak and Çankırı. Our players aim to achieve rankings in at least one category nationally, as they did last year. As club president, together with my administrators, coaches, parents, and athletes, we are confident we will succeed. Our goal in the coming years is to continue supporting our youth with our sponsors’ help and represent our province in the best possible way on these platforms.
